A 30-Year Journey Built on Content, Design, and Technology .

Vision.

For over fifteen years before 2007, Wee built his foundation in the world of advertising, working as Creative Director at a leading agency. He mastered the art of visual storytelling — building brand identities, creating campaigns, and shaping narratives through design. His work connected businesses to their audiences through creativity and clarity. But as digital transformation began reshaping industries, Wee saw a problem that others didn’t. Content creation was being slowed by manual processes and outdated workflows. Stories were trapped inside inefficient systems. To him, content wasn’t just about visuals anymore — it was about structure, speed, and scalability.

Shift.

In 2007, Wee made a defining decision. He moved beyond creative work, stepping into the technical world of digital infrastructure and content systems. His mission shifted from simply creating content to building the platforms and workflows that would manage, protect, and deliver it. His journey began in the newsroom. Across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, Wee worked directly with leading publishers like Kompas, The Star, South China Morning Post, and JakartaGlobe. These were legacy print operations struggling to modernize. Wee helped them transition into digital-first publishers, reengineering their workflows, automating content pipelines, and enabling them to publish faster and more efficiently, without sacrificing editorial quality.

Pioneer.

When the iPad disrupted the industry in 2010, Wee was ready to lead. He pioneered the launch of Asia’s first iPad newspapers, designing end-to-end content workflows capable of delivering over 90 interactive stories per day directly to tablets. His blend of creative thinking and systems development set new operational standards for digital publishing in the region. His reputation led to global recognition.

Standardization.

Between 2012 and 2015, Google’s Mountain View team engaged Wee to help drive their Google Play Magazine project for the US market. His role focused on digital content design consultation and the creation of a comprehensive digital standard guide that would unify and streamline content presentation across dozens of magazine titles. Wee’s work established the design frameworks, creative structures, and content principles that shaped how Google’s digital magazines looked and felt across various devices. To operationalize these standards, Wee also established a dedicated production hub in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. This secure facility operated 24/7, managing large-scale content processing for Google’s US publishing teams. While creative direction followed his standard guide, the Malaysian center handled daily production — delivering over 16 magazine titles each week, optimized across eight device formats.

Expansion.

At the same time, Wee worked with Hearst UK, overseeing the digital transformation of luxury publications like ELLE, Cosmopolitan, and Harper’s Bazaar. His work ensured that premium print brands transitioned smoothly into interactive mobile-first platforms, maintaining design integrity while embracing modern digital standards. But Wee’s expertise wasn’t limited to publishing. He expanded into corporate and government sectors. He developed Malaysia’s first interactive digital annual reports and sustainability reports for Telekom Malaysia, complete with interactive charts, multilingual content, and multi-device delivery. He created national-level event management platforms for exhibitions, covering everything from exhibitor registration to VIP and security management. In retail, he built CRM, sales, and inventory systems for SMEs, often managing not just applications but also backend servers and secure hosting environments.

Continuum.

Today, Wee continues building digital solutions that merge AI, big data, and intelligent automation. Platforms like Certixa showcase his ability to combine content management, data security, and AI-driven analytics — helping brands protect products and leverage their digital assets for business growth.

Throughout his journey, Wee has stayed true to one belief:

“It’s All About Contents — And How You Tell Your Story.”

From advertising creative to digital architect, from storytelling to enterprise infrastructure, Wee’s career has always centered on one mission: Empowering businesses to protect, manage, and deliver their stories — smarter and faster than ever before.

And that story is far from over.
